iD.I.G. Course ( initial Digital Investigations Gateway Course)

Modern day people are intertwined with digital connections in almost all facets of life. From checking the weather, to online banking, to chatting with friends and family on social media applications, we use the internet and other data connection points to support our daily lives.

Your investigators and analysts have been seeking relevant and Canadian law enforcement centric training in the areas of digital related content investigations that include social media network applications, online open source information gathering practices, and the Canadian laws that govern the evidence that is captured during these events.

The iD.I.G. Course is the gateway for your investigator in understanding how subjects are using these digital connections and how this data can assist them in their cases. It will give your member the tools to DIG for LEADS.

Investigators will receive information and instruction on digital investigations. Techniques that will assist them in everyday situations will be outlined and reinforced through hands-on case study scenarios.

Upon completion, investigators will be provided tools to successfully commence, investigate, prepare and articulate the information or evidence located to other investigators or in a judicial hearing setting.

The iD.I.G. Course is five (5) days in length, with pre-course knowledge check material provided to attending students. A knowledge check test is administered at the beginning and end of the course with a pass/fail certification. This course was developed to be in concert with the Police Training Standards of Ontario and align with many organizations’ strategic goals.
